Platform work directive and lessons learned: Bridging the gap between the Council of the EU and the European Parliament

Concept
Held on the occasion of the Czech Presidency of the Council of the EU, the event will bring together key Czech and EU policymakers and business representatives to meet and discuss the incoming platform work directive, including lessons learned from the Czech EU Presidency. The event will aim to bridge the gap between the Council of the EU and European Parliament and to address current challenges and opportunities for the sector.
The roundtable will discuss the following topics in particular:
- State of play and elements of the incoming directive from the perspectives of the Council of the EU and the European Parliament
- Challenges and opportunities for actors involved (EU member states, platform workers, platforms)
- Role of transparency and algorithmic management
Moderator will be Tomáš Prouza, Vice-President of the Czech Chamber of Commerce, Vice-President of the EuroCommerce and Special Envoy of the Minister of Industry and Trade for CZ PRES. Please register at tomas.zdechovsky@europarl.europa.eu by Friday 25th November 2022 and indicate whether you wish to participate in-person or follow the event online via Webex. The event will be held in English without interpretation.

The roundtable will be organized in the European Parliament under the auspices of MEP Tomáš Zdechovský and the Czech Chamber of Commerce.
