Czech Presidency

The main priorities of the forthcoming Czech Presidency of the EU, can be summed up as “the 3 E’s”: Economy, Energy and External Relations. They are favourable for Czech entrepreneurs, Czech Chamber of Commerce head Petr Kuzel said.

Even a slight progress in these spheres, for example reduction of the red tape burden, would be a big contribution, Kuzel said.

One of the most important priorities of the Czech EU presidency is "competitive and open Europe", whose major theme will be the policy of small and mid-sized businesses to be embodied mainly in the European Small Business Act. The act comprises measures aimed to simplify regulation, reduce the administrative burden and enable better access of small and mid-sized companies to EU programmes.

Czech EU presidency will also deal with removing barriers on the EU internal market, particularly as regards free movement of workers and services.
